Don’t get me wrong, I love having an athlete go from averaging 8 points per game to 15 points per game, 1 assist per game to 4 assists per game, doubling their rebounds per game, diving after every loose ball or earning defensive honors. The most rewarding feeling in the world, however, is having parents or athletes notice a complete shift in their confidence. Hearing things like “he has gotten so much more confident” or “ she is doing so much better socially and in school” truly fulfill me. While I have a burning passion for the game and strive to take every athletes game to the next level, I also want to enhance their mental wellness, instill confidence and prepare them to be game changers in life.
