Ever since I can remember, sports have been a huge part of my life and my identity. Growing up, both of my parents were coaches and my brother and sister were my biggest competitors. Living in the small farm town of Hilbert, WI, I was heavily involved in numerous school activities, but basketball always held the biggest piece of my heart. During my junior year of high school, Northern Michigan was the first school to offer me a full scholarship to continue my basketball and academic career. After my first visit to Marquette, I knew without a doubt that I had found my new home.

Younger me would be so proud to say that I was able to become one of the greatest women’s basketball players in NMU’s history. During my senior year, my team was able to compete in the GLIAC championship and advance to the NCAA tournament for the first time in five years. I finished out my career at NMU as an Academic All-American, 4x First Team All-Conference, and the program’s all-time leading scorer.

After completing my collegiate basketball career, I took one more year to finish my master’s degree at NMU while also coaching for Ishpeming’s JV Girls Basketball team and running small group training sessions through Rise Up. Being able to work with and inspire the next generation of hoopers in these roles has been one of the most rewarding experiences while being involved in the game - and that’s saying something!

I truly believe that all it takes is for just one person to believe in you and see what you are capable of - or for that one person to help you see it in yourself. Throughout the years, the game of basketball has taught me so much about myself, the world around me, and how I can truly make a difference in others’ lives. I will forever be indebted to the game and all of the experiences and relationships it has given me. I hope to continue to share my passion and knowledge in order to inspire the younger generations into discovering a love for the game and a star within themselves.
