Camp Layout
Monday-Wednesday
Ball handling (30 mins)
We will focus on the three keys to ball handling: power, control & rhythm. Protecting the ball in a power position will be a key point of emphasis. We will also learn ways to create space, change pace, limit turnovers, handle the ball under pressure and limit turnovers by slowing the game down.
Film Study (30 mins)
Studying film will allow athletes to take their game to another level on both ends of the floor. We will break down different aspects of the game as well as study ways to lead yourself and your teammates, the importance of body language, ways to be vocal, etc. The idea here is for athletes to hear it, see it and then be able to apply the skills learned on the court. We will also allow time for Q & A with our coaches. Athletes will be expected to treat this as a classroom setting and be attentive while taking notes with their own notebook/pen.
Skills (30 mins)
Our skill sessions will directly correlate with what we just learned during film study. Skills will specifically focus on footwork, finishing, passing, defense, making reads, spacing and moving without the ball. Our goal is to help players develop into a level 1, 2 and 3 player.
Shooting (45 mins)
Reps on reps on reps! A shot starts with the feet and works its way up the body. Proper shooting technique and form will be taught. In addition, throughout the week I will meet with each player individually and provide them with a shot evaluation. Feedback will be given as well as ways to improve their shot that can be taken home with them. Each athlete will be expected to take notes on the feedback given.
Competition/Live Game-Like Situations (30 mins)
This session is time for players to be aggressive and work on decision making in real live game settings. This is where we put everything together. Competition will always be incorporated.
Mobility/Yoga (15 mins)
Improve range of motion, help prevent injuries, develop overall physical performance, calm minds, increase self-confidence, practice gratitude & so much more. The mental part of the game is so important, yet often overlooked.

Additional Details:
The camp will be capped at 36 athletes for each session. The camp will be led by Coach Alyssa DeCicco and Coach Makaylee Kuhn plus one other assistant (who will be announced soon!) with collegiate playing and coaching experience, providing a 12:1 player-to-coach ratio. The purpose of limiting athletes will allow the camp to be as personalized as possible. Both sessions of camp will be co-ed. Quality basketball is quality basketball, regardless of gender.
